Maggi and I go way back. It was the first thing I learnt to cook. I still very proudly tell a lot of people that I know how to cook maggi:P As a kid maggi was served to me as a treat. And I remember nestle used to send some stickers of animals which I proudly used to stick on our cooking range. Come exams and I had to stay away from maggi as it used to trouble my super sensitive and on the last day of exams was the bigggest treat ever. 2 maggis in tiffin! I really used to look forward to it and thinking about it I still like the cold maggi taste. And its not just because am nostalgic about it.
Before I get carried away I guess I should concentrate on just maggi and not maggi and me. Okay so this is for the hostelers, students preparing for their exams late into the night, living alone working professionals, wives who dont want to cook a full meal, home alone children umm pretty much everybody. The reasons are listed below
True to its advertisements it does take only two minutes to cook it. And I usually take just that much time to eat it as well.
Tastes delicious. I have not met any one single person who doesnt like these noodles.
No additional ingredients required( in usual cases. unusual cases mentioned somewhere towards the end of the review) . Boil water, add noodles( obviously in the pack) and tastemaker( in the pack), let it cook for a minute and voila super yum maggi is ready.
Available in different flavors. Masala, Tomato, Curry and Masala
Easily available in all markets.
Reasonably priced( at 10 Rs.) and you will save some( well only 2 Rs.) when youd buy a pack of 4.
7. Is super yum without adding anything else but for a change you may try the following.
a) Tamatar Pyaazi Maggi
Heat 1 Tbsp. butter in a pan. Add chopped onion(1 faaat onion), garlic and green chilly. Once cooked add pureed tomato(1 faaaat tomato). Let this come to boil then add about 2 cups of water. Again let it boil. Then add the nooodles. Wait for the noodles to soften and the puree to get thick. On top of this add just a pinch of salt, lal mirchi and garam masala. Top it up with some green chillies.
Mere to muh mei paani aaa raha hai.
*b) Cheesy Maggi
*Cook maggi the usual way. Add some butter when maggi is almost done, some parmesan chees/( Amuls processed cheese) and some oregano( if you order in from Dominos ask them from some extra oregano and add half of that packet)
*c) Sabzidaar Maggi
*Stir fry vegetables of your choice in a pan. Add water. Let it boil, add tastemaker and noodles and done.
d) Bhuni hui Maggi
Divide maggi into two halves. Roast one half in butter till veryyy light brown. Cook the other half 3/4th cup of water and when done add the roasted maggi(along with the butter in which it was cooked) and let the two mix.
There are many more ways to enjoy maggi but I have tried only the ones mentioned above and can guarantee you it tastes great. you can have your own styles of cooking maggi as well. I have phases of eating maggi. Currently( yes I am still an ardent fan and have maggi atleat thrice or four times in a week) I have dry and a little uncooked maggi. I add just one cup of water instead of the 1 and half and let maggi cook until dry. Yummyy Yummy. The other style is soupy style. People add two cups of water instead of one and a half and let maggi cook and leave some water. To this you may add shahi paneer masala( close match to maggis tastemaker) for extra taste.
Overall you just need to get yourself a pack of maggi and enjoyyyyy!
