Magic bricks is a nice site if you want to find out properties being offered for sale or on rent. However, there is one big fraud case that everyone should be aware of. When you are searching for properties on rent, be sure to pursue only the ones listed by individuals and not brokers.
You may find that there are some brokers (example : "Khan" or "Ahmed") who have numerous listings of properties. Most of these are apparently excellent bargains. Such as , a 2BHK apartment for only 6k in Begumpet area in Hyderabad (which is too good to be true, if you know current rates here).
If you decide to pursue these brokers, they will initially ask for a ’registration charge’ of some 500 bucks. I was foolish enough to give them this amount. After that, they showed ridiculously expensive properties, and could never even show one single decent one.
Best of all, after that day, they will never respond to your calls or sms’s.
NEVER trust brokers who charge you upfront. MOST OF THEM ARE CHEATS!
