Magic Bricks has its good and bad points. Unfortunately, the Bad majorly overshadow the good. Let me keep this review simple.
The Good
This site has a wide variety of properties on Sale and for Rent. Their inventory is truly very large and will usually have something in your price range and close to area of choice.
The Bad
The site is full for brokers. Almost all the properties are put up by brokers who use tricky language and ask for ridiculously high commission. Id advise anyone using the site to go to only "directly owned" properties. Its always cheaper negotiating with the owner directly. Also, the brokers, in my experience put up pictures of properties that dont exist.
The Ugly
Scammers. The site is loaded with them. Since youre not in touch with the broker directly, a lot of them feel they can get away for some reason. A broker I contacted there visited me, and then asked me to pay a "deposit" with him for showing me flats. I refused and asked another friend. Apparently, its a common scam. They dont bother showing you any, or any affordable or sensible houses once they have your money.
-My experience
I put up a commercial property once on magic bricks. Almost all the calls I got from there were from brokers, and once 1-2 from direct renters. The site would be effective, but it seems to have been taken over by brokers like a termite infestation. Check it out, and then try to get in contact with the owners directly.
