Mahalakshi Temple in Mumbai is located at a nice place facing the Arabian Sea. Lot many people queue to see the deity od Goddess Lakshmi as she is believed to be the goddess of opulence and wealth. They believe if they pray to goddess, she will shower blessings on them.Mahakali, mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati are worshipped here together.Mahalaxmi Temple visited by many pious devotees all across the year is one of tourists attractions in Mumbai. The commercial capital is studded with many religious places and this temple is located in Suburban Mumbai.Goddesses are worshipped here daily. The sculptures of the temple is also marvelous.
I happened to visit this temple many years ago. All I can remember is we we had to go bare feet and ultimately notice the peak of the temple.
The ground floor is encroached by many hawkers selling flowers, coconut and other ingredients required for worship.
I liked the ambience as that time the main worship was going on. The deity was draped in a gorgeous pink or red coloured saree and embellished with gold jewellery.
It is very easy as the place is well connected by train. One can easily go from Church gate station by a train. The people might be observed praying to goddess Laxmi believed to be the goddess of opulence and majesty.
All across the year one can go but during monsoon it is recommended not to go as Mumbai becomes inundated many a times during monsoon.
