Mahalaxmi Temple, mumbai

Mahalakshmi temple is very close to the Arabian Sea. The pictures and sculptures on the temple’s walls is amazing. Goddess lakshmi, Goddess Sakaswati and Goddess Kali are worshipped here. people believe if they pray to Goddess, goddess will shower blessings on them.Mahalaxmi Temple visited by many pious devotees all across the year is one of tourists attractions in Mumbai. The commercial capital is studded with many religious places and this temple is located in Suburban Mumbai. The temple is close to the Mahalakshmi station therefore one can easily go by train from Church Station.Goddess is worshipped daily and one can go and pay tribute regularly. On ashtami goddess is worshipped with specialty.

I happened to visit this temple many years ago. All I can remember is we we had to go bare feet and ultimately notice the peak of the temple.

The ground floor is encroached by many hawkers selling flowers, coconut and other ingredients required for worship.

I liked the ambience as that time the main worship was going on. The deity was draped in a gorgeous pink or red coloured saree and embellished with gold jewellery.

It is very easy as the place is well connected by train. The people might be observed praying to goddess Laxmi believed to be the goddess of opulence and majesty.

All across the year one can go but during monsoon it is recommended not to go as Mumbai becomes inundated many a times during monsoon.
