I have tested the Mahindra Centuro at D.P Motors in Chennai, as much as I can, with full efforts. I rode it upto few kms, with a pillion rider, I did not find any vibration or shaking. The keying & self starting is smooth.The key is encrypted and and details of encryption is provided with CD software, it is not possible to steal the bike.
The encryption of the key is in such a way if duplicate key is tried the bike will sound alarm and engine get locked, after which it should be taken to service center with software CD to unlock it. I rode it over many speed breakers and slopes of 30 to 45 degrees, heavy MUD, round stones, "S" & "C" type curved roads, the shock observer is very nice and no evidence of discomfort.
The bike is mileage concentrated and has moderate pickup, please don’t expect pickup like 125CC bikes! It gives moderate mileage of 55 to 75 kmpl and may fluctuate according to the CITY, road condition and traffic status, usage of clutch, brake & accelerator. So please calculate the difficulties in your city.
The front panel has good LCD display and analog RPM meter, with clock, odometer, fuel, and reserved distance measurement. These features are not available even in 125 CC bikes.
ONE IMPORTANT POINT: If you loose the keys, it is difficult to start the bike, you have to take it to service center and the new lock key set will be provided under the payment of Rs6000/- approximately reported Mr.Pradeep, Manager, DP Motors.
As reported by other reviewers 5 bikes among 500 or 1000 had some problems of low mileage less than 50kmpl, and this has been taken be service center and problem has been resolved - Reported by Mr.Pradeep, Manager - DP Motors, Chennai.
The usage of the bike and the maintenance, all the parameters will decide the efficiency and mileage.The worst you load and accelerate it looses efficiency and this is applicable for any brand bikes.
MAHINDRA CENTURO, MAY BE RECOMMENDED FOR THOSE WHO LIKE TO RIDE VEHICLES IN MODERATE SPEED AND NEED GOOD MILEAGE AND MODERATE PICKUP.
