10 reasons to avoid the Gusto

10 reasons to avoid the Gusto:

  1. Seat adjustment – While this may look like an alluring feature, it is not a good feature at all. There are only two height adjustments, and the seat becomes too slopy in the low setting and too high in the other.

  2. The remote control and flashing lights are more of fancy features than of use. They do not offer any security or safety. In fact, they seem to drain off a lot of battery, and your Gusto won’t self-start if you don’t use it for a couple of days, due to low battery.

  3. No storage space- This is the worst part. Not even a half helmet will fit in, when the seat height is adjusted to low.

  4. Spare parts are expensive and not easily available. Many parts are very unique: Oil filter, cables, mirrors.

  5. Mileage – My estimate, its not more than 25 kms. Make sure you reside near a petrol pump.

  6. Weak brakes – You need to brake well in advance. You lose confidence to brake when at 50 kmph and above.

  7. Side mirrors – Such bad quality that they lose their adjustment due to the scooter’s vibration and wind! You need to keep adjusting them every now and then.

  8. Bad design - A simple procedure such as replacing the accelerator cable requires opening up the front, centre and rear fairings!

  9. Sales – Ill-informed sales guys employed by the authorized dealer. Messed up paperwork. The scooter delivery took more than one month.

  10. Bad service – No reminders for servicing. I had to start using my local mechanic right from the first service.
