My wife and I started with this desire to own a car for our familys regular weekend visits in Bangalore. Keeping in mind our budget our first option was the Alto or Zen Estillo from Maruti Suzuki. Things were almost final in terms of decision but a final peek into popular auto magazines for comparison changed my perspective of entry level sedans.
What quickly followed was a visit to the showroom, a great test drive, and booking of our first car in the next 2 days. It was love at the first drive. In about 20 days we had our brand new Logan 1.4 GLX. I agree that this may not have everything that the other cars posses, but what was really comfortable was that we got a good deal for the money spent. Some of my cousins and friends liked the looks and some didnt. But there was nothing to stop us at that.
Weekend visits, 4-5 long distance drives with the whole family and a large space in the boot to fit in all our luggage. Has been a amazing year with the Logan. Until the first service our car delivered about 10Km in the city and about 14 Km on the highway. Recently I was curious on the mileage and wanted to track the same. So we did a full tank from reserve three consecutive times and were surprised that we were getting about 15-16 Kmpl in the city.
Part of this credit also goes to the superior quality of petrol from Shell that I always prefer, but am happy that the risk I was willing to take at a time when this car was new into the Indian market has reaped good results. Thanks to Mahindra, Renault & Shell
