My FINAL update on Logan Diesel. I wont write about this car again. I AM REALLY SORRY AND ASK FOR FORGIVENESS IF ANYONE HAS BOUGHT THIS CAR AFTER READING MY PREVIOUS REVIEWS.
So I have been the one updating regularly on this site and praising heartily about this vehicle and even convincing three of my friends to buy this crap. Was even about to buy the second car next month.
It feels like I have committed a sin by recommending this vehicle. This vehicle will be off the roads very soon. Its not a curse from me but even the dealers are sayIng the same. NO LOGAN SEDAN AFTER DECEMBER.
My past reviews were all praises since the car was working perfectly. Very high usage on my side but mostly on highways. Close to 67000 kms in 15 months. amazing mileage of around 21km/l average, huge in space, strong body, good manouvering on curves at high speed. These things still are the same but the real problems come after you are past 60000 km mark and all these are acknowledged by the service engineers of MAHINDRA too.
1) The steering was always quite hard. Not seen a single women driving this car till date. Its very hard for a SEDAN. Harder than even Maruti 800 which was without power steering.
And suddenly one day the so called power steering of LOGAN justcrashes and it becomes so hard that it is impossible to drive the car.
Remedy: The whole assembly was replaced by the service guys. No REPAIRS possible. Whole assembly. No reason given by them why it failed. I had taken extended warranty otherwise the thing would have cost me tens of thousand. And I am afraid what will happen after my warranty expires. Whatr if it fails again.
2) Minor accident in front a month back. No dent in bonnet and the grill also perfect with minor brushes on front bumper BUTTTTT - the whole AC radiator assembly damaged. GOD knows how that happened.
Small thing but the repairs took more than 10 days. No parts are available with the dealers. They order everything on demand.
3) After another500 kms suddenly on a visit to saharanpur, a screeching sound starts coming from the wheels. By the time we getback to delhi, one of the brake pad out of the four in wheel is totally worn out resulting in full damage of disc and buckle assembly. No reason given by service people to why the problem arose. I confronted them that if the result was due to damage in accident ( which they ruled out) then they should have changed it also.
4)The doors are giving so much noise that it seems you are driving with your windows rolled down.
5) The noises in dashboard are even louder and the service people dont know how to get rid of them.
6) Vipers are most annoying particularly in rainy seasonas they leave a trail of water in front of drivers eyes due to reverse movement.
So the heart of the car might be great ( Itsa proven DACIA engine) but all other parts are just craps with emphasis on cutting down the cost of the car.
GUYS BE PREPARED TO PAY HUGE AMOUNTS ONCE THE CAR HAS TO GO TO A SERV ICE CENTRE. AND ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO SAY THAT TALKING TO MAHINDRA PEOPLE DIRECTLY HELPS, I LODGED A COMPLAINT WITH MAHINDRA (COMPLAINT NUMBER - JG027/0125) AND NOBODY BOTHERED TO CALL BACK FOR 48 HOURS. AFTER REPEATED CALLS THEY SAID THEY CAN DO NOTHING TO HELP ME. THEY ARE NOT AT ALL INTERESTED IN SELLING THIS CAR SO FORGET ABOUT SERVICES.
