After doing lot of several reseach & comparision and doing test ride between Mahindra RODEO, Mahindra Duro, New Activa, ACCESS 125, TVS Scooty, we finally narrow down
one and purchased RODEO in Bangalore. Beleive me was not so confident about the performance and after sales & support(seeing by past experience on KINETIC)
My RODEO has already clocked 1089KM on odometer and now I am very happy that it was a rational decision to go for this great power bikes/scooteretts.
Here are my few personel observations about Mahindra Rodeo.
POWER & PERFORMANCE: RODEO has very smooth start and low noise engine which will make feel sometime tht engine is not running in dense trafic. Electric start is fantastic, I did not face any starting problem early morning. The Rodeo has a 125cc powerful engine, which deliver 8 BHP power and torque of 9 NM. Which is really maximun in his own segment( Activa is 110 CC, ACCESS 125 and RODEO 125) . It is very stable & balanced with excellent braking @ the speed on 50 KMPH(will test later at 80KMPH speed) Sorry I don’t drive more than recommended speed( as per company manual) first 1500 KM at ODOMETER. I dont want to make any harm to my new ENGINE.
FUEL capacity & Mileage: The Rodeo has a 4.5 liters fuel tank capacity which I feel is bit low, which result frequent visit to petrol pump for refilling. I was getting 40-42 KMPL in Bangalore trafic before going for the first service and after 1st service mileage raise to 45KMPL. Again it will purely depands on the driving skill and depand on one’s driving style.
I use to drive in between 45 - 50 KMPH with max 5000 rpm and maintain the same pattern.
- Comfort and nice key features:
Front Fueling /4-in-1 Anti Theft Key- good magnatic cover for exta protection./underseat Storage Space and LED Light - huge space to accumlate ur full mask helmet, raincoat, jacket, lunch box. no laptop(missing)/ Electronic USB Charger - No worry if u forget to chage ur mobile phone . you can do while coming to office( need to purchase USB adaptor INR 500 /-) // Digital Console meter - Feel like u r seeing car dashboard with fully loaded digital odometer, tachmeter, rpm meter, trip meter, Time clock etc. //Sidestand along with Buzzer - Free sidestand and with buzzer which will save from unwanted incident in case u forget to lift side stand. // Aerodynamic style - The external body style is well designed to reduce air pressure well with excellent streamlined body works graphics.
The features I like most in the Rodeo are the digital display, which includes a tachometer, trip-meter, acceleration indicator, fuel gauge and a Time clock. OVERSPEEDING INDICATOR - I love this feature. really good one. specially at night drive, if I exceed more than 60KMPH speed than the digital console meter start flashing "RED" indicating danger and will make me alert to slow down below 60 speed. Much attention has been given by Mahindra Team for safety and convenience. The anti theft key also acts as main key for the central console. The designed seats are very comfortable for both riders.
- Comparision with other makes/models:
I have done Comparision on this segment between Mahindra Rodeo 125 cc, New Honda Activa 110 cc, Suzuki Access 125cc engine.(Access 125 is slightly higher on BHP 8.5bhp)
The onroad price of the Rodeo in Bangalore is Rs. 48, 800(with full guard)wait time= 1 week on full down payment, where as for New Activa around 52, 500(with sidestand & full guard) wait period 3 months and Access 125 around 50, 600(with full guard no side stand) wait period up to 6 month or give full downpayment and reduce wait period for 2 months.
- SERVICE & SUPPORT: Incountered a nice experience on after sales support and recived a positive responce immeditely on one complain to mahindra service. I received a phone call and also an email reply within 12 hours from one of the Top Mahindra service dept - Sr GM.
Conclusions
The Mahindra Rodeo is very convenient, more riding comfort for both gender, very atractive stylish look scooter for a fast city lifestyle guys. In my opinion those who are planning for gearless automatice scootertte for family ride should give a test ride and feel the difference in terms of power/price/features/ after sale service. I am sure u will get fascinated . REAL POWER RODEO.
