The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

Hi everyone. Happy New Year. Am asked to write about the Scorpio. Well..........

The Scorpio is a vehicle made by Mahindra and Mahindra. As usual, Mahindras have done something very stupid. The a/c ducts for the back seat are located at foot level. So when the a/c is on, the people on the back seat have freezing legs, and the people sitting on the jump seats get hardly any air at all. Why does Mahindra do this?

The vehicle moves very well. It is great to drive, but watch out if you are on the back seat on a bumpy road. The first engine was a little noisy in first gear, but the CRDE engine is much smoother.

The Scorpio is fairly spacious, but the designing could be a bit smarter. It looks sleek from the front, but the back looks like something has rammed into it and flattened it. The vehicle is very tough.

If you want to buy a Scorpio, watch out for the Servo kit for the brakes. In most of the earlier vehicles, the servo kit used to fail within 6 months to 1 year of buying the vehicle. Imagine barreling along at 100ks, only to find that the brake has failed. The defect comes about because the kit has not been fit properly. It costs a packet to replace.

All in all, the Scorpio’s good, except the Mahindra induced oddities that irritate.

Have fun.
