Mahindra XUV500 is the company’s flagship car which has recently got another facelift in its lifespan of seven years. The game changer SUV was introduced back in the year 2011 and took the market by storm because of its sheer value for money quotient. The car received some of the cosmetic as well as mechanical updates in the year 2015. Over the past few years, the SUV has managed to gather a lot of praises and remained popular among the enthusiasts due to its bold and appealing looks and expansive feature list. In the mid-life update, the car received further increase in features and engines were more powerful than before. This time around, the company has given some handsome makeover in every department, be it styling, premiumness, features or additional power under the hood.
On the outside, Mahindra XUV500 gets the new front façade with refreshed radiator grille along with mesh motif decorated with chrome accents. Headlights have been worked upon with LRD DRLs now placed on top. Fog lamps surround gets minor tweak but retains the same old school looks. At the rear part, tail lights are triangular with LED signature lighting while tailgate has received a complete renovation. Tailgate spoiler gets newly incorporated stoplight. The SUV is available in 7 graceful colours they are Crimson Red, Mystic Copper which are new, while others colours include Pearl White, Lake-Side Brown, Opulent Purple, Moondust Silver and Volcano Black.
The interiors of Mahindra XUV500 are equally stylish and well-furnished. The vehicle is a seven-seater SUV and with the amazing 2700mm of wheelbase, it makes for a spacious cabin and very comfortable seating. The upholstery is quite nice and the all-black dashboard design is pretty conventional along with large air-con vents and twin-pod instrument cluster. The 7-inch infotainment unit remains the same but it can be paired with Mahindra’s Blue Sense App that allows the user to control climate, check tyre pressure and volume and audio source. Other features are carried forward from the older variant such as 6-way adjustable driver seat, electric sunroof, leather-wrapped steering wheel, push start/stop button and passive keyless entry.
For providing safety to passengers, Mahindra XUV500 is loaded with a long list of safety features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Engine immobilizer, Child Safety Lock, Hill Assist, Automatic Headlamps, Turn indicators on ORVMs, traction control, rain sensing wipers and central locking.
Mahindra XUV500 features the more powerful version of the existing 2.2L diesel powertrain that is capable of producing power output of 155PS and the peak torque of 360Nm. It’s 2.2L petrol engine is carried forward and can belt out 140PS and yields the peak torque of 330Nm.
