I own a 2010 model xylo E4 which has completed 41000 kms till now. It is a very good people mover if not the best can be a good companion for long journey with maximum comfort.
That does not mean this vehicle is suitable only for highways, maneuvering within city is also easier with its tall stance, good visibility and hatchback like turning radius.
The best part in this vehicle is its soft suspension which will give a floating feel as in Air bus and volvos that you will enjoy while stopping and driving over pot holes. Some may not like this feel who drive fast and needs less body roll at corners. Keep the air pressure @ 33 or below else you might feel bumps and thunders.
Xylo does has few niggles like others but most are minors, the front suspension bush offen goes kaput which needs to be replaced every few 1000 kms. The plastics are inferior when compared to its rivals, the power window switch and regulators may give problem over time and few others but all could be sorted out. AC is good and powerful with ventilation even in third row. Mileage is about perfect for a 2.5ltr engine 11-13 kmpl in city limits and upto 16 on highways.
Now the service and maintenance - cheaper to maintain, minor services will not cost more than 2k-3k and major services upto 6k. I don’t take frequent visit to service center other than prescribed intervals. Now that’s remarkable since a Maruthi swift service costs would be almost same or more than this quote. If one cannot afford Innova this is the next best buy if not worried too much about the look and resale.
Overall this is a very good all rounder which served me well for all these years and in years to come.
