***Failure & Mrs Disaster***

Why should one producer agree to produce a film or a director agree to direct it or actors to act in it? Instead of asking them, let us ask the audience, why we audience go to theater to watch a film? Being on the side of the audience my answer goes like this. A movie is a medium of entertainment. To laugh, cry, excited and more..we audience expects the movie to enhance our emotions which gives entertainment to us. Let there be glamour, action, music, romance, horror, comedy – let the fun times never end. Going for movies were the best outings I used to get in my youth and even now. Rarely there had movies which could make us think, pass a message, induce our imagination and creativity. There are classic movies which entertains us even after decades. Making a film is a dream of all producers. Directing a movie is a dream come true for the director. Been appreciated for acting is the dream of any good actor. Watching a good movie is a hope of every audience. When the movie entertains it is a win-win situation. The audience enjoy it and only happy to pay the ticket price or even a hiked price. When the movie is not reaching the expectation, the audience lost their money in the first place, the actors get negative feedback, the director’s career will be in struggle and the producer goes bankrupt. Why we chooses for lose - lose situation? If we are attempting for something different and fails, even the failure may be worth our tears. When we don’t even attempt to be different or to be ordinary?

Mein Aurr Mrs. Khanna was a complete disappointment for me.

The story is happening in Melbourne, Australia. Reina (Kareena Kapoor) was an orphan and didn’t have any surname. When she was about to go out of orphanage, she made a prayer to god and god send a stock broker Sameer Khanna (Salman Khan) to her. She was complaining of not having a surname and Sameer happily gave the ‘Khanna’ surname by marrying her. Then, after marriage she didn’t go to church or anything and may be the god was angry and the stock broker is now jobless. As money is an important aspect in marriage and in the presence of recession, no job was in avail of Sameer, thanks to his reputation. His friend offered him a job in Singapore but he cannot take Reina with him. He made arrangements to send Reina to Delhi. Reina don’t want this for obvious reason only known to her. A waiter in a nearby caffe (Sohail Khan) fall in love with Mrs. Khanna in first sight and even after knowing she is married, he didn’t give up his hope. Mrs Khanna now doesn’t leave Australia but continue to live. Watch it on screen if you are still interested to know what happen afterwards.

The movie didn’t have any plot whatsoever. The script/screenplay was pathetic. Characters didn’t had identity, or branches. Story lacks reason or logic. This is another good example of how a movie should not be.

Salman Khan was sleep walking throughout the movie. No action, reaction or emotions. Kareena Kapoor did an ok job. Still, she could not make any impression, thanks to weak character and lack of story. It is unbelievable that a super star actress agree to make a shot without lip sticks? It shows! Sohail Khan was completely wasted in a comic role which made us to cry instead of laugh. Other casts were not that appealing. However, the guest appearances by Bappi Lahiri (ok), Preity Zinta & Deepika Padukone (Good) were a relief for few instances here and there.

Music is one department which shown excellence, but what difference it makes when a new and colourful cloth is attached to a torn garment? The music deserves a better story. Choreographer did their part well, but sadly the soul was missing from its origin itself.

The same story goes with cinematography as well. The shots were very good. Though it was experimental in some cases overall it deserves a very good tag. There are some excellent scenes shot from Melbourne (few from Dubai too but not so good).

Overall, the movie disappoints big time.
