Woh hain na (sharukh)

The much anticipated directional debut, the dream project of Farah Khan..... Main Hoon Na, Main Hoon Na is a jolly ride with lots of bumps in between the journey, in the end you come out with mixed feelings about the movie, this is how it goes;

The story starts off with the interview of the Indian Army Chief Bakshi (Kabir Bedi) in a talk show for which nasseruddin shaw (major) supervises the security. we come to know that the whole thing is about Mission Milaap which is about releasing 50 Pakistanis who had wandered into Indian territory many years ago, most of them innocent, but have spent years in Indian prisons for no wrong of theirs. This is to take the fist step towards peace, but we come to know that there is a terrorist who opposes this mission.

Raghava (Sunil Shetty) who has sworn to stop Mission Milaap, there is an attack in which Sharukh (Major Ram) makes his appearance, (it was verry difficult for me to see Sharukh wit the gun and doing all sorts of matrix martial arts) Nasseruddin Shaw who incidentally is the father of Major Ram is hit by a bullet from Raghava in saving the army chief. In these dying stages Nasser tells sharukh he had another family, a son and his soul will attain peace only if both his sons together do his rites.

While Raghava was with Bakshi he gives him his daughters photo and reminds Bakshi(Kabir Bedi) of his daughter. Major Ram is sent on a mission to save Sanjana (Amrita Rao) to Darjeling, where incidentally Lakshman and Kiran Kher (who leaves Nasser over a fight ) to bring the family together aswell as protect Sanjana, Sharukh joins college, as a teacher ????? no, as a student, well, ths is the funniest and best part of the movie where Sharukh gets close to his brother who is Lucky (Lakshman Sharma-Zayed Khan) fixes the problems between Sanjana and Major Bakshi, falls in love with Sushmita (shes a chemistry teacher) moves in with Lucky and becomes close to Kiran Kher, saves a kid from Raghava who is already there in Darjeling, well, the story takes a few turns from here, the story ends with mission Milaap being a success.

There are a few Illogical points:

  1. An Army Chief sending his best officer for the security of his daughter when there is a great mission in process.

  2. Sharukh chasing a Scorpio with a rikshaw.

  3. In the climax Zayed Khan gets a helicopter and goes near the building where Sharukh is have a fight with Suniel.

and a few more as well

Performances :

Sharukh Khan:

Hes the life and core of the movie, if people will sit and watch its because of his charisma on the screen, the scenes where he interacts with Susmita are adorable, he has done some stunts, atleast with dummys, he gotta be careful with his back, anyway he was superb.

Zayed Khan:

Well, hes the new kid on the block, he was ok, his acting was passable, he looked good after he got his hair cut.

Amrita Rao :

Shes good, her voice sounds good, she had a come and go sort of a role, but she did well.

Sushmita Sen :

She didnt have much to do except cat walk. She was gorgeous in whatever she did.

Suniel Shetty :

A negative role this time, he was different, he did it well. We can accept him as a baddie.

Kabir Bedi, Nasseruddin Shaw, Kiran Kher, Comedians

All did a good job, the comedy which is around 45 mis of the movie is really good.

Special Effects :

Except a coupe of scenes where they implemented the matrix effect, the rest were crap, and lacked finishing.

The director has made the mistake of mixing a lot of things like, Patriotism, Family Sentiment, Love.

The movie is a good one with a new concept, that is something we should do more often, about peace towards Pakistan. but the direction lacks, the story is very loose, with a lot of questions comming up in the viewers mind. but after all it was a good movie, woh hain na, Sharukhs there to save the day.

Note : The title song is not between Sharukh and Sushmita, its sung by Sharukh to Zayed, this was my biggest shock.
