Heard of the term Caring and maintaining a bike ......Google search it and you would find a hundred technical manuals ranging out from simple to top class engineering stuff , which frankly speaking is kind of geek knowledge for most of us.For those who are passionately attached to their bike with next to nil technical knowledge(count me in)...maintaining your steed at top-notch condition may be kind of a fuzzy , confusing subject. At times we wish there was a much simple option...well there is one
LISTEN up while riding your bike.......yup I know it sounds ridicoulous... just try it.......Try listening to your dear steed when you ride it, Keep an ear out for any unnatural sounds which is a dead giveaway for problems to come(like engine spluttering), analyse the feel of the bike (riding feedback, unnatural vibrations, instability )and immediately note the changes and refer it to a tech for answers/remedy.if the problem persists or has a slow gradation to the worse fix it ASAP at your nearest service centre.....If it dissapears ..might as well forget it.
A detailed wash up every week will show up the odd rusty screw or rust formation(Eg:Rust formation on the front disc holder etc) Dab a lil lubricating-oil on the rusty areas as a temp measure or touch them up with a little paint, to arrest them before they become expensive patch up jobs
This is a simple STOP-GAP method for all Tech illiterate or green-horn bike enthusiasts. This as far as I go, if anyone can add up further it would be greatly appreciated.Any good link on maintaining a bike is most welcome, after all....... learning about the technical side of bikes is a must as the matter in this review is just a Stop-Gap measure and not a permanent solution:)
Any Queries??you are welcomed to the comments section for the same:)
Happy riding guys.
