~Using a laptop is great fun untill you mishandle it. They are generally suitable for those people who travel a lot across the globe or who need to be constantly in touch with work.Being a handy machine it also requires good maintainance. The health of a laptop totally depends on how you operate/handle it.Just to satisfy my Curiosity, I also bought one but never used it.I concluded that the old, simple computer was far more reliable and easy to use.
~ General Facts:
When working with the laptop, do not keep it on the bed otherwise there wont be proper air circulation.Due to this the laptop gets heated and many internal parts are destroyed. It will automatically stop working after 10-15 minutes.Always use a laptop under suitable conditions.
Buy a good & strong bag for your laptop as it will protect it from any damage when dropped from height. It will also prevent dust, entering the laptop. When not using it put it back into the bag.
Charge the battery of a laptop only when it completely finishes up.Most of the people charge it when 20% or 30% battery is still left. Charging it before time reduces its life which will soon result in the failure of the battery. Also donot overcharge it as it can burst like the dell laptop bateries are these days.
Never handle a laptop roughly, press the keys of the keyboard softly . The monitor should not be titlted or adjusted every 2 minutes because by doiung so its alignment gets disturbed. When closing the laptop, place a piece of cloth between the screen and the keyboard. This will prevent the screen from getting scratches.Do not listen to music too loudly, high viration omitted by it may damage the near by internal part.
Use only the recommended operating system software for your particular model.
Overall cleaning:*
Clean the laptop periodically from outside with a damp/dry cloth.Do not use a wet cloth as it reduces the shine of the outer colour of a laptop which indeed will look dirty.Never let dust enter the ports provided at the back of the lappy.
How to clean its external parts?:*
1.Screen: Try not to touch it as touching the screen leaves behind a mark which is prominent and can be seen through naked eyes. With a soft cotton cloth just wip away the dust daily.
2.Keyboard: The keyboard of a laptop is the most sensitive & important part .Generally over a period of time a huge amount of dust gets settled underneath the keys which results in improper functioning and hardening of them. They should be cleaned throughly twice a month with the help of a cleaning fluid easily available in the market. If by chance the liquid goes inside the laptop then, immediately put your laptop upside down for around 12 hours.
3.Combo Writer/CD-Rom: Clean the lens of the writer/cd-rom with the help of a lens cleaner cd which has two small brushes attached to it.If you also wanna clean the tray, then clean it with a dry cloth alongwith colin. Always use branded CD-R/CD-RW for burning any sort of data.
4.Touch pad: Clean the touch pad when required with a damp cloth. While working on a laptop, do not apply excessive pressure on the touch pad, it can harm the disk below.
Internal parts:
Dont even dare to touch them.If any problem arises take yourlappy to your trusted vendor or company only.
