ManSingh Hotels has 4 hotels in North India - two in Jaipur, one in Ajmer & one in Agra. Since Agra is not really considered a night halt destination (most people visit it on a day trip from Delhi), the chain offers economical packages for 2 a night stay at their 3* hotel in Agra. Thats a good deal considering its one of the good hotels with a per night rack rate of Rs 2995/- (phew!!)
Man Singh Palace Hotel, Agra is located on Fatehbad Road, pretty much where most of the popular hotels are located.
Actually, its not that way, totally. Fatehbad Road leads upto Fatehbad, so dont get misled by Hotels claiming to be well located just because they are on this Road. Man Singh on the other hand is very well located. There are couple of good restaurants, grocery shops, STD booths nearby. It is about 5 km from the Railway station.
A 3* hotel, quite small in size when you look at it from outside. Has less than 100 rooms on the whole, 4 of them being suites. The standard rooms are pretty much what you would expect in a 3* Hotel. But suprisingly they are very spacious. Cosy beds, hot & cold running water, powerful showers, a clean bath tub. Overall, a very comfortable place.
The Lounge is a restaurant cum coffee shop where breakfast is served in the mornings. The Breakfast itself is a good deal - a buffet spread with continental & Indian dishes. They serve cornflakes, fruits, eggs, breads, puris, aloo ki subzi etc etc. So basically, you need not have lunch either!
They also have a health club & a swimming pool.
The staff is efficient & seems like they have been working forever for this hotel. So they take good care of the property & its guests.
So, if you’re looking for a short break from Delhi life, try taking this break!! The hotel is a good place to se=pend your time in case you do not want to go have a look at the Taj AGAIN!
