I would say Manali has lost its charm what it used to be 6 years back when I revisited the Hill station 2nd time the first time was 10 years back.I visisted Manali on 18-3-2013.The roads have become bad and the place has become overcrowded and u see construction everywhere and I would say the valley hills are slowly disappearing.
The road to Manali from Chandigarh itself was bad with all sort of potholes and was told by ht locals its not repaired since long and same for internal Manali roads. Solang valley had become dirty with all tourist activities like scooters etc.the only saving grace was Cable car ride and it was clean up there with lot of snow. The Vashist hot springs have become location for washing clothes and utensils.
The restaurants are below average but the prices are more than a decent restaurant in Bombay and quality itself was ?mark.I think our political corruption will destroy such beautiful places and will force us to spend our vacations out of country. I think the place will lose its charm and I will never visit there again!
