Walk in with care...

I had to choose b/n the dealers to buy my new car and to get the best deal. I just dropped in the Vijayanagar Mandovi (so called) showroom and greeted by the sales person. She knew little about the cars and the showroom was least equipped with showpieces for prospective customers. She just showed me some color plates and said that’s all she had to show.

For anything, I had to go to Lavelle road show room(then why did they called v’nagar location as showroom?). After having a look at cars at lavelle road, I wanted to talk about the price and discounts. Those people said I’ve to go back to v’nagar to proceed with the negotiations. By that time, I had madeup my mind that I cannot go back to v’nagar(where I live and the show room(?) is soo closeby). I knew, if I go back, I’ll be in soup.

I wished to continue my transaction only in lavelle road(though it is far from my place). This place is well equipped and there were people who’d answer queries. But they were not ready to give any discounts on anything for Alto. I used to get calls from v’nagar which were always taking me off the track(misleading informations). I just checked up with other showroom in the city, and as soon as they came to know that i’ve already visited one, they initially hesitated, but soon offered 4, 000/- worth of accessories.

I returned to mandovi and told about the offer. They offered 5, 000/- w.o.acc, immediately which they refused as if am asking something which I should never do. Later, after taking the delivery, they asked me to sign up a document which says that I’m under the benifit of ’Corporate scheme’ of Maruthi suzuki ltd. I later realised that whatever the discount they’ve given me(no...I had bargained hard) is open for many corporates in many of the cities in the country and they are not giving it from their(dealer’s) pocket.

The scheme is there but somewhere hidden. Truely speaking, I got a satisfactory bargain, but still am not sure what amount was I eligible under this scheme for my alto. I came to know that for zen, it could be 12, 000/- w.o.a(in B’lore). That’s a big amount and you can get a lot. Be sure of another thing, what ever the accessory price they tag is 2-3 times more than outsiders(but they claim their ones are genuine accessories, ok, u’ve to accept as there is no option). I almost got whatever basic needs of my car along with the delivery. Ofcourse that was a good deal, but I had to struggle.

Just two things to conclude: I found v’nagar showroom unsuitable for making any deals(least equipped and least experienced for selling new cars) and one should note about the current schemes available ’carefully’ before making the final decision as that can pay off well. They can easily say that scheme was there and now it’s not...but make sure...’is that true?’...
