Yesterday evening I went to buy few old albums, and I was surprised to see Amirs Rising. I never knew the music was released nor have seen the trailers. My friends are great fans of Rehman, they say he is the best (but I have some reservations), compelled me to buy the CD, which costs Rs.145. On hearing or should I say listening; to the album I realized I wasted Rs.145.
The album starts with Mangal Mangal which has three versions; is the only song that is likeable. Its a nice energetic song by Kailash Kher whose allah ke bande and yuhi chala were big hits.
KKavita Subramaniams Mein Vari Vari has a good mukda but as the song progresses it becomes very slow and making us to skip it. It also features Reena but she has only little scope in the song. Not to mention bad vocals from Kavita.
Holi Re is a confusing song by Udit and Madhushree. The beats for the songs are badly made. Its keeps on changing and irritates the listeners. The song is too loud and it doesnt look like a holi tune.
Rasiya is a seducing song on Rani who plays a prostitute in the film. Again this song is very boring, but richa and bonnie compensate with good vocals.
Takey Takey is another confusing song. Wonder what Rehman was thinking while composing this? This song sounds very modern and does not justify the era in which the film features, Not to mention uninspiring tune and bad vocals from Sukvinder.
The albums ends with Al Maddath Maula an islamic song which again does not impress. It is no way different from other islamic songs composed by the same music director.
To sum up I say
This album lacks soul
Tunes are uninspiring
Lots of noise in the name of beats
Few songs do not justify the era
Bad singing from Kavita and Sukvinder
Ordinary music arrangements
Bad CD quality from yashraj music
The price is expensive
You might think my review is rude as it fully rejects the album, but this is what I feel of the album. The tunes are extremely complicated, boring, unimpressive and I am not able to grasp it. Do tell me your thoughts on this album.
