Misdiagnosed Twice

Went to Manipal hospital in 2017 end with my friend suffering from high fever. They said it was viral fever and refused to admit him.

I went again after 4 days to request them to check him for Dengue or at least admit him. They refused saying it wasn’t required. They said us not to worry and just take rest. I told them that platelet counts were dropping but they did not bother to hear me out.

4 more days later, I had to admit him to a different hospital and it indeed was Dengue. The new hospital said we were so late that we could have actually lost him. His platelets were less than 50K by then.

Since the hospital is close to our house, we had to visit it’s emergency again for a leg injury. They put a crape bandage and told that he will be okay by one week. We went back to Manipal OPD after a week and then the new doctor said first diagnosis was wrong and he should have got a plaster instead and now, it is late and it will take 6 weeks.

It has been two months. He hasn’t healed a bit. We went to several other doctors who said, the injury was misdiagnosed and thus, now it can remain like this for even 1 year.
