I am really frustrated with PolicyBazaar, ManipalCigna and Mediassist. I took this policy via PolicyBazaar for my mother 60 years old without any pre existing conditions. Unfortunately my mother was experiencing shortness of breath, dizziness past 2 weeks. So we took her to general doctor told that heart pumping is weak and advised to check with cardiologist immediately. Took 3 different cardiologist options and all of them asked to admit her in the hospital immediately. We took her to Yashoda Hospital Secunderabad. I gave insurance details to hospital and got the initial approval from ManipalCigna/Mediassist. After 4-5 days of observation & angiogram, cardiologist advised to perform Pacemaker surgery. Hospital team submitted the estimate and ManipalCigna rejected the claim stating it could be pre existing in nature. Senior cardiologist clearly stated it is not pre existing and could happen to anyone anytime. After this reconsideration claim still under review. Customer care always says we don’t have access to backend team, they will keep repeating the status which you see online.
The ManipalCigna cashless claim promises which see on TV are not true. In reality it is very stressful. I called PolicyBazaar after this experience, no help from them. In fact, I called PolicyBazaar and inquired to get new policy and they’re confidently selling this on their website and Saying it will do all kind of wonders when you need insurance during emergencies.
Please don’t fall for this. Take care.
