A romantic treat.....

I love Mann because it showcases the incomparable talents of my two favorite stars at their best. I know some people say that this movie is too sentimental and corny, but part of its allure is that it is not too realistic. It gives us an escape into the ideal world where everyone is good looking and charming.

Nowadays, movies like to play on the realism of life. This movie is for all the romantics out there who are looking for a film to fall in love with! This movie’s theme is that true love is forever and conquers all obstacles.Only a man who truly loves a woman would help her knowing she loves another and expect nothing in return from her.

Amir meets Manisha on a cruise and fall deeply in love, despite the fact that both of them are engaged to other people. So, a pact is made: that within 6 months, they would meet each other on Indian Gate. Of course, in typical Bollywood fashion, Manya doesn’t make it as She’s hit by a car and Amir, feeling like he was abandoned, is deeply hurt. Will he ever see her again?

And if so, what would his reaction be when he sees her in her current state? When he finally does find out, in one of the most memorable scenes, it breaks the heart. You can see his reaction when he discovers the truth, a mix of emotions that just tears at the heart and get the tear ducts flowing. Classic Bollywood moment!

Analysis

This story is a love story that a woman would love to have come true in her own life. Romance as strong and interesting as this has not been portrayed in any other movie I have seen. Seeing this film always makes me wonder if something like the kind of relationship describes within this film would actually be possible in real life.

Would any could someone actually leave the person they were engaged to in order to marry a complete and total stranger they just met days ago? I’d like to think that it could, but then again I am nothing but a hopeless romantic.

The characters, scenes, humor, ad infinitum, are very special and beautiful. Cruise ship,

and romantic portions were well pictured and made the story line come more alive. Amir plays the love bachelor in his own special and unique way, and who could ask for a better counterpart than Manisha. Oh how I wish I had been Manisha in this movie. Love every minute of it!

The final scene always tears my heart out no matter how many times I’ve seen it. I’m always sobbing. Watching this film around the valentine is always a treat.

I have heard all the bad arguments for this movie. And I understand where they come from. People focus on the details that can be misinterpreted, instead of looking past all of that and seeing what the story really is about.

Regarding Manisha hiding the accident from Amir, many people see that as ridiculous and dramatic, but its not. She doesn’t want any handouts.

He loved her as she was. She doesn’t want to go back to him broken. She knows he doesn’t have a lot of money and he may blow the situation out of proportion. It’s a question of pride and besides she already knows that she hurt him so deeply by what happened and she can’t just come out and tell the man she loves and hasn’t seen for months that she was in an terrible accident. Its just that she wanted to tell him but she knew that she couldn’t.

The music score and the cinematography and costumes are also very beautiful.

Yesterday I have probably watched this movie for the fourth or fifth time, and I still become very touched with such lovely romance.
