Hi! Recently I noticed a lot of advertisements regarding Maruti 800 for Rs. 2599.00 or 2499.00 etc. So immediately like everyone it caught my fancy. The EMI was right for me.
I called Vitesse Ltd. and They gave me a different offer for lower down payment so this is the offer:
Maruti 800 / Standard / AC / Metallic
Ex-Showroom Price: Rs. 2, 74, 481
Loan Amount: Rs. 2, 22, 000 (Difference: 25481)
EMI: Rs. 3601
Registration & Insurance waived of if I pay Rs. 2999
My Total Down Payment is Rs. 32, 081 (this includes Diff + One EMI + 2999)
Now here come the Total ’’Rip Off’’

The Price for a Maruti 800 STD is Rs. 217, 708
So they have quoted Rs. 4491 more then their listed price for a ’’DX Model’’. So when questioned why am I paying more for STANDARD MODEL when the Price for a DX (The quote to me was for STD with A/C) is lower by 4K and half the features, response was:
’’Maruti has discontinued 800 DX Euro II model, but this STD model has an A/C and the only difference is the 5 Gears. STD Model has 4” - A Complete Lie!
Verdict:
I figured what Vitesse or any other Maruti dealer is possibly doing. They are installing an A/C in a Standard Model and asking people to pay more then they have to for more then half the accessories. Remember there are many difference in a STD & DX models... Check this link to see the Difference between the 2 models:

What we are getting is Leftover 800 STD with installed A/C sold at a Rs. 4491 higher then their original DX Euro II model. My personal suggestiong to all people who are interested in purchasing vehicles... Please study such facts before you commit to anything. Fortunately I was saved from such a Crappy Deal.
