I purchased this product just months before, but prior to purchase like other techies, I did lots of research on different sites and also taken reviews from my friends. Actually its my first car so quite obvious budget and reliability were the major concern because without reliability what the hell you will do with inner space or ac or mileage. So lets start with my true experience..Its one of the best in its segment(i had shortlisted Santro, Indicaturbo, WagonR). For santro mileage was key issue because in peak summer of Delhi and in traffic jam(normal scenario in Delhi) its average is 7-8 with ac on(my friends experience). And about indica its maintenance and initial high price and tata dealers attitude(for me they are best to interact with cab drivers not for medium class families) and for WagonR its boxy shape and over price. So lets come back to the topic.
Alto is very good for city drive due to light weight and power steering. But of course inner space is problem for driver seat, you need to adjust a bit for comfortable sitting.Mileage is also good. But its 2nd gear sometimes gives problem(net very smooth) but manageable. Power steering too good. But yes I thing which you will feel from day one that with ac on (especially on 1 and 2 gear) its too sloww https:// That means you need to wait till 3rd and fourth gear. But of course in this budget its rocks, because if you want power than go for turbo indica 1400cc engine and you have to pay around 1.5 lacs extra compare to alto.My personal suggestion :if budget, mileage and a good small family car you need go for it else choose between turbo and santro as per your convenient.
Thanx
