I purchased my alto lxi wine red a month back and since then i have driven over 1100 kms but still cant get enough of it.
Before purchase and during my research i contemplated on maruti alto, tata indica, zen estilo, wagon r and the hyundai santro.
My areas of worry and concerns were the mileage of the vehicle and maintenance as well as i was upgrading from a 2 wheeler......
During the process of the finance and other legal work i did not know how to drive or neither did i ever drive a car before.
I went for a 7 day driving class and then i got my new car. I found it very very easy to drive and handle.
Basically a small car with a very responsive power steering and wonderfull ac,
Occupies not much space and the perfect car for a city person and also occasional highway trips.
The visiblty is decent even though the bonnet of the car is not seen or visible , depends on right judgements.
The pick up and power is very good with the ac turned off.
I would suggest on long trips do not travel with more than 4 people as it becomes cramped and a bit uncomfortable for the 5th person .
A fat or well built individual seated in the front gets quite agonising as shiftin gears become difficult cause of the lack of space.
I will keep you updated about the milage factor of the car as i’m not very sure as its yet brand new but with out a question of a doubt i did not feel the pinch of the fuel consuption as i was upgrading from a 2 wheeler and also a milage conscience person. The mlage seemed pretty good.........
Infact i use the ac on the minimun cooling temperature after sun set which is very sufficient and satisfactory.
Being an amatuer on the wheel up to this date i have managed not to scratch or cause any damages to the vehicle which is self explainetory that driving an alto is not a task .
The car on road price is 314000 and my dealer was kapico and they sure know how to make you feel special and satisfied.
A demo car was brought to my residence and the executive was quick paced and customer friendly .i was given a complimentary sony explod system with two speakers in the dashboard.
The little problems that i faced was that sometimes the reverse gear does not fall into place and the glasses behnd does not go down fully.
The car did not feel very safe on a high speed and especially a small car with a power steering is scary on high ways on a high speed.
There is a lack of power with the ac turned on and it also gets noisy when put on maximum cooling.
As shown on the website the car does not come equipped with body coloured bumpers and tinted glasses.
Additional basic requirements for the vehicle like seat covers and tinted glasses and body and wheel cover costed me close to 6000 rs....fyi.....
Overall the service at kapico was over whelming, my next car is sure a maruti and my dealer is kapico.
After delivery of the vehicle, i received 2 calls from maruti directly questioning me about the experience i faced and also positive feedback about the dealers and the executives and vehicle.......
This car is all about practicality and meets the essential requirements for a common man ........dont expect more from a car with this price tag .......
