Some more details of the much-anticipated Maruti Baleno RS have emerged with spec sheet of the car leaking on the web. The performance-oriented version of the popular hatchback that will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 102PS of power and 150Nm of torque. The Maruti Baleno RS will come with a 5-speed manual transmission. It will also get 16-inch wheels with disc brakes on all four wheels. Launched in October 2015, the Baleno is Maruti’s bestseller having sold over 1 lakh units in 2016. It is offered with both the petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre petrol motor produces 84PS and 115Nm, while the 1.3-litre diesel pumps out 75PS and 190Nm. Besides the standard five-speed manual with petrol and diesel engine options, the petrol can also be had with an optional CVT ( continuously variable transmission) automatic gearbox. It is available in four trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha – and in seven colour options. It rivals the Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and the VW Polo. The Maruti Baleno delivers a claimed mileage of 21.4kmpl for the petrol and 27.39kmpl for the diesel.
