Baleno is a great car no questions on that but Maruthi did promises good on road support when they sold me the car and I had the misfortune of finding it the hard way that it’s all bogus words to make a sale through. A few days back, I was on the way to Chennai and met with a small bump on the way. I was sure there was no problem as Maruthi would help me out of this problem. I called the help line and they told me that as I was out of Bangalore, I had to call a Chennai number. I agreed thinking that was the process (they did not tell me that out of city limit service was not part of the agreement when I took the car). Well I was stupid enough to call the number given and they told me that they cannot help me because I am outside the city.
They asked me to tow the car inside the city (50km) and then they will help me (why the hell would I need them if I can tow the car 50km????). I called Maruthi help line again and asked them if they can help...they agreed to send a tow truck as they did not have a workshop nearby but I have to pay for it. I told them "fine" but the tow truck never turned up. I waited 4 hours made at least 5 calls to the help line and they kept on extending the ETA for the tow truck to come and at the end nothing..I was stranded on the highway with a family and a broken car and a Maruthi help line person telling me help is on its way for 4 hours and no one coming to help...
To cut the story short....
.I ended up hiring a local tempo to tow the car (me at the wheel ... that was fun). We came to Chennai and gave the care to the workshop for repairs....once inside the workshop, things seem to go on well
People out there with Maruthi cars....trust me....if anything goes wrong on the high ways...don’t wait for Maruthi to help you...tow the car to a nearby workshop. Maruthi help line will say HELP ON ITS WAY .... but no help is on its way...you are all on your own.... Better Take care and drive safe...
