The Simple workhorse

When people think of a Maruthi OMNI.... they sigh, grunt etc, but end up using it for its simple design. it is easy to get into and get out of(My Grandmother prefers it to my cousin’s Santro). It has a lot of space. Even very tall people can comfortably sit in the back seat, Tends to be slightly bumpy if not driven carefully. Three adults can easily sit in the back. my daughter and quite a few of toys (who are permanent residents) enjoy the back seat. For me, as a driver the handling is great in city traffic (Thanks to the driver position). This is contended by many as dangerous (i wonder which car will remain in one piece if you have a head-on with a lorry). On the highways I normally do around 80Kmph max. It has a great boot space and I need not worry about the extra suitcases my wife likes to get along.

The cons are that the luxuries are completely missing. The most obvious one being that there is no fan (absolute must if you have to wait in traffic). Hope Maruthi works on this. The car also mists when it rains and you close the windows. The dashboard is too plain (no place for a cell phone.) The front seat gets warm (Engine below). No proper security as it can be broken into by even a child. Engine though underpowered is consistent. Last but not the least is the brakes. I advice all not to drive a OMMI during heavy rains or through pools of water stagnant water on the road.(If you do, Please check your brakes as you drive)

On the whole it is a no nonsense vehicle which gets you to your destination
