In a country like India where every vehicle accident is attributed to fate, bad luck, drinking and driving, driver negligence, Automobile manufacturers are enjoying a great prosperity in terms of sales and after sales issue. Unlike in countries like the US or Europe where in ever fault is first linked to car as much as possible and tried in a court. This advantage is being over seen and car makers are risking it by skipping very important basic safety features like ABS, EBD, ESP, AirBags etc. Surprising that post accident, investigators are failing to realize it was not the drivers mistake but the cars failure.
Coming to the point.Well reviewers on this site talk more about delay caused by dealer than the car itself, with this said jumping straight to topic.
Pros:
Brand name and service
Features are in mark with other makers
Fuel economy is appreciated
Cons:
Poor color options
Bad body design
Less aerodynamic
Lacks many features compared to Hyundai cars with same range.
Waiting time at some dealerships.
Lxi/Ldi, Vxi/Ldi lacks safety features. This is dangerous biasing peoples life on price.
The swift dzire( the stretched form of the Swift )is overall a good car, but has some short comings which is masked by its brand name.
Engine seems to be good and powerful for Ritz which forces lesser space to be occupied.
The same engine on dzire makes it cry and wonder how its doing or is it alive on the daddy ertiga. Same engine on all cars is not a good choice. Desire deserves a 1.4L or 1.6L engine.
Bucket seating makes the vehicle look bulky and very challenging for people who are short. If at all possible only your head and not the arm that can make its way outside the window hence reverse parking cameras are a must. No fancy auto OVRMs, sun roofs etc. Prison like windows at the rear, thanks to motor mounted for winding window.
Engine takes a hit with AC on, lessens pick up, takes time to gain momentum after braking. Thought only Alto and below suffered this but even dzire complained the same but to acceptable range. But expect a good mileage better than the other cars.
NOT to be mistaken the vehicle looks bulky but not the space inside. Most of the space is taken by fiber compartments like gearbox, bottle holders etc.
Boot space is excellent at least that you can boast about, but not with Vento which can load larger space.
The wheel is placed directly below the rear passenger seat making the bump too wide and door too curve and matrix like alighting from car, meaning you have to bend a lot to the back to get down from the rear seat.
Not a 5 comfortable seater but 2 Adults and a kid can accommodate in rear.
Only Maruti 800 can fit 3(One wedged across gear box) in front and 3 at the back. Awesome.
You dont have an option to own those premium glossy dark maroon, chocolate, purple, golden or cherry colors. Wooden finish on dash board makes up for this.
3 DIN music system is just a basic backlit 8 bit LED almost like a calculator display. Requires pen drive to be in FAT32 format. No options to pause or stop.Only Prev, next and mute is available. 6 speakers is a good option.
Ground clearance is good but still it kisses the road when 5 people are seated. Brakes are good with Z series but L and V skids a lot with narrower wheels and no ABS. At 80 to 0 sudden braking you can hear a movie like braking sound with a skid mark on street. Rear wipers are missing. Pretty good warning sensors and measuring units.
Overall, may not be a sport or luxury car but a good car for commuting for regular use.
