I test drove the Swift & got to know why it’s doing so well. This car has good looks & a refined Esteem engine that’s proven in the market. Its true that the Swift is coming with a newer engine in other countries, but that in India would have made the car expensive by a lakh, which’d have been a disaster for Swift & it’s potential customers.
Swift with 87 BHP is surely not underpowered. One can drive it to confirm.
The Swift has lesser boot space, but then it’s a hatch back. Why look at it any other way. For the city ride its more than enough.
The car provides very good safety features which are utmost important in the Indian conditions.
Maruti could have priced this car a little cheaper, by around 25k.
Overall I dont think anyone with this car will have any regrets.
