Everybody out there who will be reading this message of MINE may have driven the basic Maruti 800 vehicle once in their lifetime, its like an iconic brand from the time we were born during 80s era.Its the only oldest brand in India who still has a JV with Japanese Suzuki brand.
Personally I dont own a Maruti Hatchback car for various reasons which will be mentioned below in detail.
Coming to Space inside any Maruti hatchback is poor for people sitting at the back, as their knees will pain in all long journeys. Its some what cramped up at the back.Boot space is also small with about 200 lts.
Dealer Satisfaction: This is a plus point for this brand as dealer is almost present anywhere in India being the oldest brand, any local mechanic can also rectify the car, neednt be a authorised maruti specialist.
Fuel Consumption: Hope all of you must have heard we asking all the Car dealers "kitna deti hai" .This is something we Indians as people need to change, a car of any brand shouldnt be plainly judged on mileage, there are many other factors too.
Comfort: Front passengers wont have any issue, back passenges will have guaranteed back and knee pain during long journeys as mentioned above, also the ground clearance of the car plays a role, when compared to other brands like Honda, VW.An increase in Ground clearance is good in one for Indian roads due to Indian horrendous humps, secondly increase in ground clearance also means elders entering or getting out of the car will not be that comfortable and in the long run people will take the paint out from back door sil area.
Looks can be deceptive is all what I can say, because the car looks like cute from outside with a good powerful engine but lacks life saving feature in any accident.
Reliability: The hatchback brand models in India have failed with "ZERO" stars in crash test, Cheap spares and easy dealer availability is the only plus point for this series to survive still in india
Coming to my personal experience of buying a car, I was planning to buy Celerio model, when simply one day I planned to take a test drive of Honda amaze petrol model in BLR.The Maruti guy gave a all good discount close to 30000.When I told the maruti dealer that I will be going for a test drive of Amaze, the instant reaction of the dealer was Honda is expensive, spares are costly, no discounts etc .I told iam going only for a test drive, i will buy celerio only to whihc he said the 30000/- discount is only valid for a day or two and it can be increased uptil 50000/-OTR for Celrerio model was 5.5Lacs, which I was getting for 5lacs when I said I will take a test ride of Amaze.
I fell in love with the test ride and instantly bot the car which costed me 7.56Lacs OTR .Iam not at all sad that I paid additional 2.56Lacs for a brand which has a myth of costly spares an all.Every single day I love driving and I dont feel tired driving on BLR roads as this car is built for Indian roads and it never feels as if iam driving a SEDAN, it feels like you are driving a small car, from outside its a sedan car. I have crossed 30000 kms in 2.5 yrs now and my last service bill was 4310/- may be 1k higher than Maruti petrol variant.
Whoever who is wishing to buy a new car after reading my message, shouldnt just plainly look for features like mileage, cup holders, inside aesthetics, boot space and all, because a car is something wherein you and your loved ones will be travelling, look for crash sustainability, airbags at least(2)which should always be number 1 question in the mind,
Guys iam not promoting any brand here, is just a plain feedback which I wanted to share with you all guys.Hope message is loud and clear for all new buyers.
