My 7th car. I bought a Swift VXi in August 2006. Well I also sold it immediately in July 2007. a good car to drive but the cabin is claustrophobic. Black Black everywhere. Good pickup but poor mileage. Just bare minimum 10 kmpl in the city - ac on. Highway mileage was around 14 kmpl. The AC compressor konked off after 8th month of operation. Maruti guys - Chowgules in Pune, very courteous - promised for a free replacement. But how can a compressor become useless within such a short period??
Maruti cars are supposed to have the highest quality!! That is what they claim as per their customer satisfaction study. Is this really the quality what we talk about? All window glasses have a tendency to rattle. Power window switches do not work well. You pay close to 5 lacs for a car and what do you get?? Nevertheless I enjoyed driving it. Very stable at high speeds, precise gear throws, wonderful car to own unless Maruti guys do something major to keep up the quality!!!
