Suzuki’s new Swift has striking similarities with the Mini Cooper which has beens elling for decades, its interiors as well as exteriors resemble the Mini Cooper (of Beetles fame) completely.
The stylish roof, front, rear, interiors all bear resemblence to the Mini. Not only this, if you take a high media quality tour of the Swift website you’d see that even the website for Swift is more or less the same as that of the Mini.

Nevertheless, the car is no doubt very good indeed in terms of power, looks, and features. Maruti’s USP for selling this car are its looks and power in spite of compact size (just the same as Mini which is even smaller than the Swift and has more power)
The new Swift is probably the only Maruti car which is being launched in India at the same time when its being launched in other countries, the car has recently been launched in the European market and will soon be introduced in India as well. The Swift that is bing sold by Suzuki in many countries since a long time is an entirely different car from the New Swift.
This car caters to a different market segment which was pioneered in India by Getz from Hyundai, most hatchbacks in he Indian market are in the 1000-1100cc category, this car sports a bigger1298cc engine for more punch and better drive quality. No doubt the car has strong visual appeal and is available in a variety of colors.
It comes with a host of security features like
Dual SRS Airbags
ABS and EBD braking
Seatbelt pretensioner
Collapsable Steering
remote Keyless entry
Most of these fatures have been missing in small/mid size Indian cars, so Swift scores an extra point on safety features.
It comes equipped with an Automatic Climate Control which would be a boon for the Indian weather conditions. T
he wheel size isnt as big as Swift was expected to have but as Maruti says - it has a rally based suspension so it is hopefully good.
One negative point is that this car has low ground clearance just like Zen, Esteem and would scrape its underbelly often on speed ramps.
The Interiors are very appealing, but as I said, like everything else even the interiors are the same as Mini cooper, it has the same door trims, dash board, even the air condictioning vents have the same silver ring as the Mini.
