I am myself a Maruti Savvy person and never thought that I could have written anything negative for Maruti. I have owned Marutis viz.800, Zen, Esteem, Gypsy & loved them all, never had any problems from the products. But most people may not like me say that Swift sales are mostly advertising driven. Many people booked Swift even before having even glanced at it properly. Swift has a good engine, some good safety features & nice performance. But it is too bulky compared to the inner space. Have one more look at it, all its body is stretched out (even the rear), which does not transform into larger space inside. And by the run of time when the Ad’ stigma washes out, people will start realizing it. All Maruti cars including Baleno are amazing. I am personally using Esteem & officially a Baleno, they are just superb, better than other cars in their class. None of the world’s current bestselling cars compromise so much on inner space, as compared to the exteriors. Also my friends in the Hills, who recently started using Swift in place of Gypsy are also not so happy, as this car is coming out with an average of hardly 9 kms/ltr. This car’s front top is a bit higher than the rear top, which alongwith its overall shape doesn’t make this care very aerodynamic, due to which this car will never be fuel efficient. Most important car design factor is being aerodynamic, which is totally missing in Swift. Without wheel cap, one can see very clearly Swift’s brakedrums, means its braking will not be very safe in rainy seasons. For Swift I have a personal NO, for the reason it is not so amazing. Had it been a two-seater sedan, surely my review would have been a positive one. And I am not writing this review to get any ratings even.
