Well to start with I must say that this a very good buy considering current scenario..i m taking abt lxi version which is totally value for money when compared to getz, palio or flair for that matter and I wud compare it with wagon r also.
Getz is costlier by 40-45 k and the engine performance is not as gd as swift although interiors are gd but with additional 7-8k u can improve swift’s too so no big deal otherwise on all other aspects swift scores over getz importantantly getz FE is 9 to 9.5 while swift’s FE is 11 -12 km/l and its much more better in handling and very stable at high speed... as high as 150 km/hr.
when u talk of palio it scores over swift in two terms build quality and paint quality I mean its much safer car than swift but....dealer network is very bad and it will not give u any resale value so in future if u want to upgrade u cant sell it off at gd cost otherwise its also a gd car but over all swift gets the nod its new, from maruti, and reliable with higher performance engine than palio and better FE.
Flair can be considered if u want boot but maintenance costs are high and I have heard there are some trobles with quality consistencies and flair is 70 k costlier than swift so I guess swift is VFM for its price and flair is going to get upgraded so at this time its not wise to buy this but for its segment its VFM too at this moment but why to go for old design when u are getting latest model with all gd features that too from a very trusted company at less price but without boot.
and lastly Wagon-r ..its top version vxi is priced at 4.10 lacs and when u are getting swift at 4.25 lacs on road I mean it doesn’t make sense to go for it only advantage wagon-r will give u is 13-14 km/l of FE otherwise no wise man will compare it with swift..when u are driving say 70 kms per day then swift will cost u arnd 8k for petrol and wagon r will cost u arnd 7k so 1k is not a big cost for more luxury, better driving xperience, better handling, new and good looks with more stability.
