24-Jun 2500 KM report
Mileage 17.7, guess culprit is Bharat Petroleum Premium Fuel, of may be too much City driving with full AC. The Rear Hard Suspension issue is corrected, after correct air pressure in all four tyres.
15-Jun, 2000 KM report
Mileage - 19.0 km / lts diesel, I got a feeling that Usual Shell Diesel(33.+ Rs /lt) runs better than
10-Jun Bharat Petroleum Premium(36 Rs/Lt)
10-Jun.
Bought my Swift VDi on last Akshtritya, completed around one and half month of ownership. And already have 1500 km on speedometer. On the first service clocked 18.1 km / lit of diesel.(1000km)
I have graduated from a Maruti 800, for which I wrote worst review on mouthshut 4 years back in 2005. Now I am delighted by the Swift to extent that I would like to give the best review to this car.
Except for a little hard suspension at the back which too is not really bad, because the speeds I drive Swift on Pune hard road surfaces. This is the best value for money car on road today. Not sure how Vista Quadjet fares, on transmission side I received not very good reviews hence I did not go for Vista. Also Swift VDi has the best review ranking in Mouthshut. My decision to buy was only and only driven by mouthshut.com comprehensive ratings. And I assure you I am very happy with the car.
Experience on my two long drives I did Pune - Sangli and Pune to Surat was great. All those cars(read skodas, fiestas, Corollas, civics) which use to overtake me with ease when I owned a 800, were at par with VDis power and speed.
Before purchase, I felt eariler the boot space of Swift is too small, but after using car, I felt it is pretty big compared to maruti 800. So if you are Maruti 800 owner and moving to Swift, I assure the boot space will pretty much enough. I was contemplating purchase of DZire only for this consideration "the boot space". But it(DZire) is 1 lakh more costlier than Swift Plain and is also not so good looking.
Misconception of Diesel - I was told that if you are not using diesel vehicle for few days there is chance of trouble with starting the engine. I was on out of station for few weeks, after I returned and started the Diesel Engine. It started without any trouble, even quicker than my earlier Maruti 800. All those guys out there buy the diesel save some money in fuel. I also checked Suzuki Swift in UK has been using Bio-Diesel. So whenever the technology arrives . we can become green car users.
Delivery
Another thing which I felt while reading reviews on Swift is that in southern states, it seems get Swift VDi gets wait times which are pretty long. I was very lucky I got the Cobalt Blue choice of spouse and my elder daughter in just 2 weeks.
Dealer
Wonder Cars is best auto dealer in Pune, I can vooch for it. To certain extent has resurrected my confidence in Maruti Suzuki.
