As I am writing this, mySwift VDI has clocked 13, 000kms . Swift is an economic car, if you are considering a hatch below 6 lakhs. The problem being faced is availability. It is being said that Swift has got long waiting period. However .if you can manage, read on.
The key about Swift diesel is the engine. 1.3L CRDi. Gives excellent mileage ie. 18+ in highway and 14+ in city. The mileage comes with a bonus too. Guess what. POWER! This babe can compete with any SUV on the road.when the turbo kicks in at 2000 rpm.we get sucked into the seats. We can feel the vehicle attaining great power when the turbo gets charged ie. https://m.mouthshut.com/2000 rel="nofollow" target="_blank" >@2000 rpm [3rd gear and @40 km/h] . In the lower engine speed it is a normal car.
So.that being said, great car to buy.i will tell the disadvantages. First thing I notices is that the quality of the metal is poor. Then the famous rattling sound of all maruti cars from all the doors. Braking could have been better. So, opt for VDi with ABS. I have seen many people complaining of the space utilization of the Swift. I have never found space as a major problem.
Of course it is a little bit cramped when compared to other cars in this segment. But it is OK for a family with 4 persons.
Other advantage is the Service. As there are so many maruti service centers, they are competetive and we get good service and value for our money. Also Swift is a great car to do alterations.
Overall, I recommend you to go for Swift VDi with ABS with my full heart.
