I bought my swift diesel vdi after doing lots of research. The car under my radar were Indica, Indigo, Santro, Chevy UVA, Getz, Swift petrol/diesel. But after hearing comment like "No cab please" for Indica and "No tata car" for indigo, even some comming from owner of Tata car decided better drop both from plan. After test driving swift santro was ;( , UVA not so popular, Getz not looking good enough to spend so much on finally concluded to go for Swift petrol, but latter switched my mind for diesel version considering my run was 1000km per month, and hearing all gaga review from people owing diesel variant.
Now my experience with the car, I have just driven 500+ KM, but can bet car is a feast!. The only time you feel you are in diesel car is when you start the engine, one can notice the diesel noise then, 0-20 you feel its not as good as petro but not bad also, from 20 onward you will feel why the hell people buy petrol car, at higher speed you can exp. the wild side of this car, It cruise like a tiger on prowl, overtaking almost any car and best part is for you reason might look as if other are driving slow but actual reason you can tell by looking at your speedometer, the car is as smooth as a jet even at 100 kmph. More speed u demand , swift swiftly becomes more powerfull , try control your hunger otherwise you can swiftly bang into other car!, The only problem I exp was reverse gear, its hard and even after first service problem didnt get corrected.
I bought the car from spectra motors ghatkopar, and am quite happy with them, they have fantastic staff, good thing is their after sales courtesy is as better as before sale, you raise concern/request to a person and even if he is not suppose to handle it, he will not only delegate to other right person but also ensures from his side that you go back happy for your worries.
Finally my advice if you want to buy a car which you your self would be driving go for swift! otherwise there are other good car in the market with better looking interiors!
