My experiences about Wagon-R Duo

I bought my cute wagon boy -Duo on Aug 1st 08 and have done 3300 kms as of now. First service is over. Extremely happy abt the dealer satisfaction at ABT Maruti. They delivered my car the best way it could be delivered, well polished and well attended.

I love to share my exp with Wagon R Duo owners like me. Ever since I bought this car I have been driving it on Gas Gas and Gas only and very rarely on petrol. I observed :

  • The engine runs very very smooth on Gas than on petrol, because its clean green fuel. I love to drive on Gas than petrol. Moreover Gas is currently cheaper than Diesel. It means less on bills and petrol power. So it has to last for long. Maruti claims 3, 30, 000 on gas after which 30, 000 should be driven on pure petrol for a better fuel system. This is for Duo owners

  • The first 3000 kms are very crucial on seasoning your engine, and it is from there that your mileage will get set  ( better ). Well my Duo gave me 15.5 on Gas right from the beginning.

  • The quality of gas plays an important role. I  found that BPCL gas here at coimbatore (Roots Bunk ) is the best. Pls note that the Indian Oil bunk (Auto Gas) did give me 4 kms every litre more than BPCL. I was shocked to see this on Omni owners who reffered me this bunk. At one point of time I drove 90.5 kms and filled the gas tank again, when it shockingly took 4 litres only. 22.6 kms  mileage. Thats unbelievable. Yes but  i couldnt beleive my own eyes while calculating it. I called the ABT maruti GM and informed him too. With another test of another 105 kms on the same day I found the car giving 17.9 to confirm the indian oils gas performance. Although I feel that the quality of gas is less than BPCL. BPCL is very very smooth. Can never hear the engine noise at all. Too good. But im prepared for my 15 to 16 mileage for this reason from this bunk itself cos its nearby. 15 plus on Gas makes sense less fuel bills.Thats for sure.

  • I drive on economy in 60kms speed, well thats sufficient for me. Power is less on gas than petrol, but I never found it irritating either . Since its a company built Gas Car , there may be a reason behind that for a better life of the engine. Hope you all agree.Which cant be seen on any other fittings outside. I like the power of Gas on the engine because I have patience to digest my fuel bills.

  • I have never switched to petrol (only once to see how it is ). TO ENSURE A BETTER ENGINE LIFE I RUN THE CAR ON PETROL IN THE AUTO MODE FOR 3 KMS EXACTLY WHEN THE ORANGE LIGHT KEEPS ON BLINKING. THIS I DO BECAUSE THE PUMP GETS PETROL FLOW BETTER COS CONTINUOSLY RUNNING ON GAS  MAKES IT DRY. INSTEAD OF SWITCHING TO PETROL AND GAS AND MAKING THE ENGINE DIE ON BOTH FUELS, I FOUND THIS SYSTEM TO BE BETTER ON GAS with 3 kms running on petrol ( in the auto mode- itself - it comes by experience )

  • Gentleness on the acceleration on Gas would definitely give mileage. No doubt. When we want something we have to compromise on something too.

  • The duo boy is the 4th wagon R in our family. While rest of the cars are petrol versions, I was the only one to boldly go in for the duo, and till now its mileage is outstanding than rest of the petrol wagons.

I did read Marutis article when khattar said " The new wagon has  a slight refinement on the engine for 2 more kms on mileage and also added that since the duo uses clean green fuel the engine life is more". So never argue with old wagon-r owners. There is a reason why every new wagon R gives a slightly higher mileage than their elder brothers. The old wagon is tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cutttttttttttttttttttttttttttttteeeeeeeeee on design. I love it so much.

  • finally space on the wagon is tooooooooooooooooooooo good. Since im tall and heavy built I NEED NOT CRAWL into my wagon like any other ( even 7 to 8 lakh cars ). Oh my god. Thats the main reason where the Wagon Boy scores. Its a PRACTICAL CAR. One will not know unless he sits indside.

  • I have already listed all gas bunks from the internet all over south for my travelling cos I could plan up my holiday trips with Gas Gas and only Gas. The Wagons engine is too good in its class. 1060 cc engine with no noise at all. Even less than its alto siblings. see it yourself

In one word, I love my wagon boy.Go for it. Well can anyone show me a car that is 100 % perfect. Not even the crore BENTLEY. Happy motoring.
