Good vehicle to drive around the city

This is my first review @ mouthShut.. and thanks to all the previous reviews which helped me buy my first Car -- "A Passion Red WagonR Duo."

Its just been a couple of days since I got my car from (Bimal Auto, whitefield Bangalore), hence could not write more on the mileage part.

The drive is very smooth..! I initially had some probs going on the 5th gear. But I think I was not putting the 5th gear in the right way ....... but I now I have figured it out and its kool.

As most of the reviewers have mentioned getting the reverse gear correctly needs some practice and that’s true with me too.

The pickup on LPG as anticipated is a bit less, but since I was ready for it I am not very troubled. I miss the foot rest near the clutch, the one that Santro has !

As far as Dealer is concerned, I had read many reviews of almost all the dealers in Bangalore, hence I decided to go for Bimal (whitefield) , in spite of the fact that the dealer was 25 Kms from my place. As usual, once you have booked the vehicle one can observe the change; I was made to wait almost 2hrs to get the delivery of my car. I didn’t get any freebees just floor mats and mud flaps.

From Bimal Accessories Dept, I got all four power windows (autocop) with remote locking and window relay switch (which automatically rolls the windows when you lock your car), Sun film, side door molding for 20k.  The prices of the accessories were very high, so I decided to get my music system from someplace else. I was assisted by salesman named Dayanand. He was okay, with okay knowledge about WagonR Duo’s.  On the day I was about to book the vehicle Bimal made all sorts of promises that the vehicle would be delivered on the day I needed (no matter what may come!!!) ,  but the delivery  was delayed by one day, I was a bit unhappy on that but looking at the delays which my friends have experienced I think its okay.

As I had anticipated the car would be good for long drive…. So will update once I go for a long drive J

I had been to Shivanasamudram this weekend, so thought might write some updates on the same.

The distance totally is around 150 kms from Bangalore. Most of the time I had the AC On.. (not to forget..!!! the AC can freeze you literally :)...... gets very cold within a minute or two)

The road is fantastic till Maddur (110 kms), but after Maddur till Shivanasamudram the real rally starts..! The road gets bad to worse to good to better, so if you want to test your driving skills and the vehicle suspension you can experience that road. My WagonR performed well, the engine was very responsive, I was able to easily navigate the twists and turns in order to avoid the potholes. The suspension was very smooth also small uneven potholes were hardly felt. One good thing I observed was, the vehicle almost stops immediately when applied brakes, it happened with me that I was traveling at 60 - 70 km/hr and I had to brake urgently to avoid a big pothole, I was happy that just before the pothole I stopped or else my suspension would have taken a beating.

On LPG it becomes a bit taxing to drive on road likes those, so better switch to Petrol for comfort and ease of driving.  But the real test comes on Highways, if you cruising on the Highway on LPG and have the AC ON, then the loss of power on LPG is very much noticeable. I mean overtaking becomes a little slower, and you often wonder “If I had just a little bit of more power..!!”. but anyways I prefer LPG and a cleaner environment  :)) One thing that I miss is the rear wiper, especially if you are driving during the rains, the rear window gets completely covered with mud, so its difficult to see whose approaching on highways.

Anyways the least I can say is put on your Seat Belts, and Njoy the Car :))))
