Hello guys and gals, How are you?
Well I owned a maruti 800 and was looking for a change. One of our friend who is in this automobile line stongly suggested - Wagon R duo. So we booked it.
Soon we came to know that there is a long waiting period and if we need it soon we will need to pay a premium of around 20k. We agreeed. Then after santioning of loan etc, we got our brand new wagon R today. around one week. Colour we chose - Ocean blue (not bad at all) in fact we had only two choices - Ocean blue and passion red. We booked through Vittessee (at worli). Their service was good, I dont say excellent but satisfactory. One thing to be noticed in the car is there is a fuel guage for petrol but not a exact fuel gauge for LPG.
Anyways the driving home was just SUPERB! Good electronic power steering. (esapacially after my exp with maruti 800.). Cooling is good. No complaints with performance. (he he he - just my first day). Only one thing which dissapointed me that I did not get a single accessory free. No power windows. No electronic locking. No ABS. Actually these features are not at provided with the DUO. I think Maruti had to keep the price in check therefore it just provided the minimal kind of accesories as the DUO is around 30-35 + in comaprision with petrol and yes plus the permium. I know its a kind of Costly affair. But considering LPG, its worth.
One thing I noticed that while driving on LPG, its very very very very SMOOTH. No Jhatkas at all. No engine noise at all. Yes climbing is difficult in 3rd grear if you are not in speed.
So this is my feedback......will continue writing ......and sharing my experiences with you.
Take CARE
NEW UPDATE :
---------------------
Now around after 25 days of driving DUO here are my observations:
Well first of all no complaints.....i think thats the summarry before writing further...ha ha ha....
anyways...about mileage...i really have no idea....because I did not count yet...i will update once I am really sure about the value.....
Well about the indicators of LED : there are 3 green indicators and one orange indicator... and on top of those leds is a red led. if you have put the switch on LPG, then its said that the switch is on AUTO. why? because when you start the car, first it starts petrol no matter what...you know this as the orange led keeps on blinking (car running on petrol - but auto mode) after you have driven at a certain speed say 20 for some time then the orange LED glows continously. ( running on LPG now). The 3 green LEDs indicate how much LPG is present. only orange led - very low lpg. all 3 green LEDs glowing - full LPG.
Once I had filled in 12 litters of LPG...after some days only orange LED started showing.. so I went to fill LPG of about RS. 300. But to my amazement, only in about RS 175, the LPG tank got full. then all 3 green LEDs started glowing. So I can roughly say that those leds do not give the exact amount of LPG present in the tank. Still I will confirm this later once I get an idea.
About gears - many say that the reverse is tough, 5th is tough.. I say not really.. once you get an hang on it....its easy...for those who find it tough, my advice is that dont panic in engaging them..just stay cool and you will find it easy.
After fitting all the accessories - music system, front steel bumber, mats, film. teflon coating, car looks really great.
Pickup - If you are well above 30-35 km/hr, then only try to climb any flyover in 3rd gear - otherwise engage 2nd or 1st gear. however if you are in 60s-70s, you can climb in 5th gear too. I think the microprocessor is seriously doing its job. Only after you are at a particular speed at 2nd, then only engage 3rd. If you think, what if I am slow...i will engage 3rd and then press acc hard... no use in DUO. the car does not pick up speed. in short the speeds with respect to gears are written in the manual - microprocessor follows it strictly and it wants you to follow them strictly too..
Well now the time has come for my first servcing. will give a feedback after that...till then happy and SAFE driving
