I have purchased WagonR Lxi on 21st Oct. 2004 just a week’s experience but I had analysed much before buying this car.
As far as engine is concerned, it has good pick-up & milage still to analyse but responce is quite good, gear shift is a problem (may be because its a new car) but other problem with the gear shift is when we start the car in 1st and 2nd gear, you land-up in punching the leg of the person sitting in front so thats a real technical fault I would say and Company should improve on to this. AC is quite comfortable but full blower tests your voice as its too noisy and don’t allow you to talk.
Interiors are one of the best and reclining seats are very comfortable and decor is innovatively designed to keep small things proper in place, there are door pockets in all 4 doors and can holder, coin holder and dash board is also quite big and best thing is its placed so that a tall person like me (6 ft) can comfortably sit in without my legs touching dash-board or wipers rods.
Most comfortable to sit-in and get out of the car. Rear seat is meant for 2 people only and very hard to accomodate 3 thats the biggest disadvantange when it comes to sitting, means its meant for 4 adults only.
Other thing I have observed is rear window glasses when turned down, doesn’t fully go inside the doors and are out 2 inches which doesn’t allow u to rest your arm on window. Power Steering is excellant and can just slide in traffic. Regarding the ugly looks, Roof liners improve the look a bit and other things I would be fitting in are the side mouldings, wheel covers and films which adds up to the look and feel better.
But overall a value for your money and responsewise Maruti is famous and gave good after service till date.
