I was looking for a small car for the past 3-4 months. Test drove almost all the cars from Beat to VW Polo. All had their pros n cons. But what I was looking for was a family car with lots of space inside with a better engine. Bought the new Wagon R VXI 4 days back. Drove almost 800 kms til today. Gives an average of 16kms/ltr with ac on in city. Even though its good, but hope it will get better after the 1st servicing. Interior space is amazing. Owned an Indica before, and though not as big but pretty comparable. But the interior looks and quality of plastics is way better. Hind leg space is great. Boot space is great. Engine is very smooth and there’s no trouble driving it in traffic. But it lacks low end power. Have to change to the 1st gear at uphills. 2nd gear lacks power. But the higher gears are better off. Dont expect the car to touch 150kms/hr. The drive is very comfortable for 4 people. Suspension is good. Gear box is precise and not spongy at all which I noticed in Beat.
Looks wise some may call it ugly , but if you are looking for a budget small car with all the features, this is the one. Plus Maruti resale, its a great package.
