INTRODUCTION : Maruti is a famous car brand in India and is been
famous for its quality and long lasting products. The reason for its fame is as
it has produced some good and efficient cars like Esteem, Zen and Baleno.
One car which is named Maruti 800 which is produced in the economic
section is the highest rated in small cars like splendor in case of bikes. That
car costs about 2, 30000 on road at present in the market.
Recently an improved version of it is produced in which the exterior looks
of the car are a little bit changed and the steering is changed. No other car in
India is as cheap as maruti 800.Firstly we thought for going for it. But a lot
of thinking and checking all the cars out we thought of more comfort and
luxury. The remaining cars in our minds were Wagonr, Santro and palio. We
neglected these cars for these reasons.
Wagonr is a 4 seater and the shape is also not good. I mean boxish. Santro
for its companies grim reputation and Palio for its less mileage. Hence the
option remaining was Zen and we went for it. It is also like 800 but has more
comfort and luxury than 800. It is also a 5 seater broad car. The car which is
inbetween these two cars is Alto. But alto didn’t click due to its poor looks.
Especially the head lamps which are very poor in looks. Its better for Alto
users to remove them and kep in other. Now they are rectified and a new and
improved version of it is produced. The cars which I have explained above
are less than 5 lakhs.
So coming to the point we got this ZEN after our first car Maruti 800. It was
a gas running car. It gave a mileage of 250 kms per cylinder. But there are so
many problems for gas running cars which the owners have to face. First the
speed and pick up of the vehicle will decrease. It also causes damage to the
engine. I do not recommend gas conversion. So we didn’t changed it in to
gas running car. Ours is a silky silver Zen LXi. We purchased it in
September 2005. It is too young and only clocked 1000 KMS. The longest
distance it has traveled is Kurnool to Kadapa which distance is about 200
KMS. It is giving a decent mileage of 18 KMS per litre. It is a petrol car.
Now enough of this and lets proceed to the Exterior and Interior looks.
EXTERIOR LOOKS : The exterior looks of the car are decent. It has the
same shape of Alto and 800. The shape of some cars like Alto, Palio and
Wagonr are worst. It has good multi reflector head lamps. The head lamps
have a latest tech called head lamp leveling . By this the level of the light
emitted can be varied according to the no of persons in the back seat. It is a very
car due to its less ground clearance.
Problems arise when you are in a hilly or rural areas where the roads are
worst. The tyres are good and are of brand MRF. On the front and back grills
there are provisions to keep fog lamps which are very use ful during foggy
and rainy days. The come by company in VXi version but not in the rest.
There are wipers which are common in all cars. Now lets proceed in to the
interior looks.
INTERIOR LOOKS : Coming to the interior looks they are same as the old
ZEN. Firstly five persons can be seated comfortably in this car. Two on front
and back three persons. There is a board in the back in which speakers can
be kept. The dash board consists of Air conditioner, fan and ash tray. There
is a big depression in which tiny things kept. The gear shift is made of metal and
rubber. In front of the gears there sre two round shaped holes made to keep
bottles or cups. There is also a cassette holder. The units are of green colour
which are clearly visible during night times.
SUMMARY : The ZEN is a good car with interesting things to discover in
it. It has good looks and gives incredible mileage. So my recommendation to
this product is hhhhhiiiiiiiigggggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!
