Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom also known as MC Mary Kom, or simply Mary Kom is an Indian boxer. She is a five-time World Amateur Boxing champion, and the only woman boxer to have won a medal in each one of the six world championships. Nicknamed "Magnificent Mary", Kom wrote an auto-biography called Unbreakable(2013) and was portrayed by Priyanka Chopra in the film Mary Kom(2014). Kom also has started a female-only fight club at Imphal to teach girls to defend themselves against sexual violence in India. Kumar makes a good effort to explore Mary Kom’s inspirational persona, to understand the psyche behind the suffering, the struggle and, finally, the triumphs. Rather, it bottles vignettes of her poverty, the early resistance coming from her father, her love life and marriage, motherhood and its resultant sacrifice to serve a cocktail of box-office friendly aimed at making you laugh, cry and feel proud as an Indian by turns. The movie gives us self-determination, hardworking and positive approach towards life. The movie teaches us about the women impowerment it describes the various phases in girl life cycle and if she takes a firm determination she can overcome any of the biggest huddles in her life and also can change the society thinking.
Priyanka chopra along with Darshan kumar has done a hats off performance in the movie. How the role of husband is also important has also been expressed. How he stands behind her in every problems she faces and during the cherishful moment as well. One should watch such movie through which our Indian heroes are expressed rather than watching a senseless one through which we have nothing to learn. Movie “MARRY KOM” has done well among most of the audience and everyone has loved it.
