Beyond Baltimore and before Annapolis, there lies a quaint town called Crofton. Maybe its actually a city, but it seems more like a quaint town youd find in Iowa. Farms surround the residential areas, and you cant find a mall for miles. Its amazing to think that this beautiful area is merely an hour and a half north of Washington, DC.
There isnt much to do in Crofton. Its a nice place to go in order to escape the stressful chains of home. Crofton is more of a residential area than anything else, so dont expect to find a great deal of tourists or anything. Im here because my uncle and his family lives here. There are a couple of adorable bed & breakfasts in the area, not to mention a few restaurants.
The scenery is wonderful. I cant emphasize enough about how relaxing it is. My mother and I went for a drive yesterday, amazed by the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding area. You will find horse farms (theyre not called ranches here), estates, farms that grow vegetables and such, cute shopping centers and a lot more. There are also some really nice antique shops, for those of you that enjoy collecting or just looking.
You definitely need a car here. Its a short drive from Baltimore, DC or Annapolis. It took us only three and a half hours to get here from New York.
Crofton is out of the way, quaint and quiet. Its a perfect little town to escape reality, especially if you live in a city. If you are ever in the area and just want to relax, try to pay a visit to Crofton. You wont regret it.
