As a life long native of the Bay State Ive spent many a day visiting around the state. Massachusetts has much to offer and is best visited in the midspring through Christmas. Massachusetts has a strong historical legacy. Places to visit include Revolutionary war sites Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill, the first Pilgrim Settlement-Plimouth Plantation, Old Sturbridge Village for a taste of 18th century life and many more. The homes and inspirations for writers including Thoreau, Louisa May Alcott, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Herman Melville and Emily Dickinson beckon to those with a passion for literature. Nature lovers can wander from the rocky shores of the Cape Cod National seashore to the hills and valleys of western Mass. There are state parks and forests as well as Audobon sanctuaries to be explored. Theater and fine dining are highlights of days in Boston as are visits to our nationally acclaimed Museums of Art and Science and the many smaller museums. The
For those traveling with children, the Aquarium and Science Museum are big hits as are the beaches in the summer. There is also a large amusement park in the western part of the state that has become part of the Six Flags group of theme parks.
