Managaram, kaithi. These two movies made a very good impact on the tamil cinema audience for its screenplay and "out of the box" Narration. when we heard the same director is joining hands with vijay, we surely felt that mass of vijay and class of lokesh is gonna make wonders. However MASTER turned out to be a big disappointment for its lengthy duration and a dragging 2nd half. Many characters were loosely created, and the writing department was not strong enough to hold the movie tight. Lokesh, like his early films failed to create an impact , trying to impress vijay fans and also the critics. Vijay sethupathi fills his role perfectly as a ruthless villan. Anirudh did a commendable job hitting the right chords with his BGM which lifts the mood of the audience in the lagging second half. Philomin raj’s cinematography is inch perfect. Rathnakumar and pon parthiban’s dialogues have exceed the expectations. The Director has missed a great opportunity to create a impact with vijay sethupathi and vijay together in many scenes Overall MASTER is not a lokesh or vijay film either !
